1 c. steel-cut oats
1/2 c. red quinoa
1/2 c. brown rice
1/2 c. pearled barley
4 c. whole milk
3/4 tsp. Kosher salt
7 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
Grated Cheddar
Crumbled bacon
Chopped Dates
sliced chives
Sliced bananas
Sliced red grapes
Dollop of peanut butter
Fried egg
smoked salmon
Sliced scallions
capers
Freshly ground black pepper
fresh figs
Toasted pistachios
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Drizzle of honey
Sliced oranges
toasted coconut
toasted pecans
ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Stir together steel cut oats, red quinoa, brown rice, and pearled barley, milk, salt, and water in greased, 6-quart slow-cooker insert. Cover and cook until grains are tender, on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours. Stir in butter. Serve with desired toppings.
