Absolute Best Ham and Cheese Sliders | Just A Pinch Recipes image

These yummy sliders are a huge hit with the family and with the folks at our local church when we bring these to brunch! Feel free to play around with the fillings....sometimes we make these with sliced turkey and cheddar cheese. I also use spicy brown mustard at times instead of plain yellow mustard. Have fun and enjoy!

Ingredients

2 package(s) king hawaiian rolls
1 package(s) thin sliced deli ham
1-2 package(s) swiss cheese, sliced
POPPY SEED TOPPING
1 stick(s) butter, melted
1 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) mustard
1 tablespoon(s) dried minced onion
1 tablespoon(s) poppy seeds

Steps:

Cut the top off rolls and set aside. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss inside of each roll. Replace tops. Place them into a large baking dish or heavy cookie sheet tightly together.
In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the poppy seed sauce ingredients. Pour evenly over all of the sandwiches. Just use enough to cover the tops. Let sit 10 minutes or until butter sets slightly
Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Uncover and cook for 2 additional minutes or until tops are slightly brown and crispy. Serve warm.

We know everyone has seen a version of these scrumptious sandwiches floating around the internet. Everyone has their own tweak to the recipe and we loved Rhonda's butter sauce. It was tangy which balances the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls. We love that you can prep these a day ahead of time and bake right out of the fridge. The sandwiches were toasty and the cheese was fantastically gooey. Sweet and savory, these sliders are buttery perfection. Check out some of our other great pork recipes

Ingredients

2 package(s) Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls (12 per package)
1 package(s) deli sandwich ham, 16 oz.
12 slice(s) Swiss cheese
1/2 cup(s) butter, melted
1 tablespoon(s) poppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) brown or Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon(s) onion powder

Steps:

Slice top from rolls and place bottoms in baking pan.
Layer ham and cheese on rolls.
Replace tops.
Combine butter, poppy seeds, mustard, Worcestershire, and onion powder in a saucepan. Mix well.
Drizzle over rolls. Refrigerate until butter is firm or overnight.
Cover with foil.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until cheese melts.
Uncover and cook for 2 additional minutes.
Serve warm or cold.

In a large bowl, mix brine ingredients, stirring to dissolve brown sugar. Reserve 1 cup brine for cooking chicken; cover and refrigerate., Place chicken in bowl with remaining brine; turn to coat chicken. Cover and refrigerate 18-24 hours, turning occasionally., Remove chicken from brine and transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker; discard brine from bowl. Add reserved 1 cup brine and 1/3 cup liquid smoke to chicken. Cook, covered, on low 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender., Remove chicken; cool slightly. Discard cooking juices. Shred chicken with 2 forks and return to slow cooker. Stir in barbecue sauce; heat through. Serve on buns, with coleslaw if desired.
