BIBIMBAP CHILI SAUCE - DELICIOUS KOREAN CHILI SAUCE ...

Bibimbap Chili Sauce - Delicious Korean chili sauce ... image

A spicy and very good chili sauce from Korea.

Provided by Gladkokken

Categories     Food    Sauces

Yield 1Portions

Steps:

  • This is my recipe for Bibimbap sauce. Bibimbap is one of the most eaten dishes in China. To make this sauce properly, you need Guchujan chili paste from Korea, but if you do not get it, there are alternatives that will also be very good! Here I will show the simple sauce.
  • Start by finding the ingredients. You can get most of them at regular grocery stores, but it is easiest to go to an Asian market or "immigrant store". Mix together chili puree with soy, sesame oil, mirin and rice vinegar. Chili puree can be replaced with Siracha which you can find in all stores now and Mirin can be replaced with sugar if your store does not have it.
  • Stir everything well together and finally add sesame seeds. It is always important to taste so you find a good balance. If you think it is too sweet, add a little more rice vinegar and if it is too sour, add a little extra mirin / sugar. Adjust to suit hotness with the chili puree.
  • The sauce is stored in the cover with plastic wrap or airtight box in the refrigerator. Feel free to make a slightly large portion as this has a long keeping quality.
