Oatmeal Cookies | Recipes | WW USA - Weight Watchers image

No one can say no to a homemade oatmeal cookie. The ground cinnamon, ginger, and cloves bring out a unique, cozy depth of flavor that you and your loved ones will find irresistible. The center is soft and chewy, while the edges are perfectly crispy. Vary your batch of this homespun hero by adding 1/2 cup of raisins to the batter. With that classic addition, this will soon become your favorite at-home oatmeal-raisin cookie.

0.75 cup(s) All-purpose flour
1.5 cup(s) Uncooked quick oats
0.5 tsp Baking soda
0.25 tsp Table salt
1 tsp Ground cinnamon
0.5 tsp Ground ginger
0.25 tsp Ground cloves
0.5 cup(s) Salted butter softened
0.75 cup(s) Packed light brown sugar
0.25 cup(s) Sugar
1 large Egg white(s)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Whisk together flour, oats, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a medium bowl. Place butter in a large bowl or in the bowl of a mixer and beat butter for a few seconds. Gradually add sugars and beat to combine.
  • Add egg white to butter mixture and beat to combine. Add dry ingredients and beat to combine.
  • Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto 2 ungreased cookie sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie. Bake until set and golden, about 11 to 14 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool.
  • Yields 2 cookies per serving.

Stirred together in one bowl, the dough bakes into crisp, delicate shapes. Toasting the almonds brings out their nutty depth so don’t skip this step. Two to three minutes in a dry skillet over low heat should do the trick.

0.5 cup(s) Packed light brown sugar
0.5 cup(s) Uncooked quick oats
0.25 cup(s), sliced Almonds toasted and sliced
4 Tbsp Light butter melted
1 Tbsp Orange zest

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, oats, nuts, butter, and orange zest. Drop mounds of the dough, ½ tsp each, onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the dough 2 inches apart.
  • Bake the cookies until flattened and golden brown, about 10 minutes. Let cool completely on the baking sheets on wire racks. Carefully remove the cookies from the parchment.
  • Serving size: 1 cookie
