Crack Slaw Recipe - 1 Point | LaaLoosh image

This low calorie, low carb, high protein recipe is all the rage these days. It’s a simple chicken and veggie stir fry dish that is so good, it’s addictive.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb ground chicken breast
16 oz shredded cabbage
1 medium onion ((finely chopped))
4 cloves of garlic ((minced))
1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sriracha sauce
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil over medium heat heat in a large skillet. Add in onions and saute until fragrant, 1-2 minutes. Add in chicken, garlic and ginger, and cook, while breaking up with a wooden spoon, until browned.
  • Remove chicken from skillet, and add in the cabbage. Cook until wilted and mostly tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Stir in sesame oil, soy sauce, vinegar, and sriracha. Season with salt and pepper and more sriracha as desired.

This quick, simple slaw is a staple in my house. Perfect when you need something acidic to balance a savory dish. Everyone loves this, including my toddler only for her I leave out the red onion. It's also low-carb, vegetarian, gluten-free and whole30 compliant.

1/2 small head white cabbage (about 5 cups, cored and shredded)
1/2 red bell pepper (seeded and sliced thin)
1/4 small red onion (sliced thin)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
5 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp kosher salt
fresh black pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine all the ingredients, toss to combine and let stand 15 minutes before serving.
