WIENER AND PASTA POT RECIPE - FOOD.COM
This is a recipe I was missing from home. Lennie very kindly came up with it for me. It comes from the Company's Coming Pasta book. I have included my own variations on it. The pasta actually cooks in the sauce. I love this stuff and so did my kids!

Steps:
- In a large dutch oven, combine everything; cover; cook slowly until shells are tender but firm. This should take 15 to 17 minutes.
- My own variation: I always browned my sliced weiners in the pot first before I added the remaining ingredients. I also added a bit of garlic powder, and topped it with cheese at the end.

- "In a skillet saute the sausage until cooked. In a separate pan melt the butter and saute the garlic, onion, oregano, basil, tarragon, parsley and mushrooms. Add the sausage and heat through. Toss in the linguine and add the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese and pepper. Mix well. Makes 4 to 6 servings. "

- Heat a large deep skillet over medium heat. Add extra-virgin olive oil, 4 turns of the pan in a slow stream, red pepper flakes, garlic and anchovies and cook until anchovies melt into the oil. Add thyme and wine. Reduce wine 1 minute. Add clam juice or stock, clam juice will give the dish a stronger clam flavor, chicken stock will give it a buttery personality. Stir in clams and lemon zest. Drain pasta. Add to skillet and toss with sauce 2 to 3 minutes, until pasta is al dente and has absorbed some of the sauce and flavor. Add parsley, pepper and salt, to your taste and serve with bread for mopping up remaining juices.

- Cook linguine. Reserve cooking water, then drain pasta. Cook bacon in large skillet on medium until crisp. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate. Whisk together egg yolks, freshly grated Parmesan, and salt and pepper in large bowl. Gradually whisk in 1/4 cup reserved warm cooking water.
