1?¾ cups walnut halves
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 (9 inch) pie shell

Steps:

  • Coarsely chop 1 1/2 cup nuts.
  • In medium saucepan, over low heat, stir condensed milk, butter or margarine, and cocoa until the butter melts and mix is warm; remove from heat.
  • Stir in eggs, flour, vanilla, and chopped nuts; pour into prepared pie crust. Sprinkle top with remaining 1/4 cup walnut halves.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 50 minutes or until center is firm. Serve warm or cold garnished with fudge sauce, whipped cream, and a strawberry, if desired.

2/3 cup butter
5 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted*
1 crust from 1 package (12 oz) frozen Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crusts (2 Count)
Whipped cream, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool 5 minutes.
  • In medium bowl, beat sugar, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on high speed 5 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in flour just until blended, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in walnuts. Spread in frozen pie crust.
  • Bake 37 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted halfway between center and edge of pan comes out almost clean. Cool in pan on wire rack, at least 2 hours. Cut into wedges. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

  • Coarsely chop the walnuts and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Chop the dark chocolate and melt together with the butter in a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla until light and frothy. Stir in the chocolate-butter mixture. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and slowly stir into the chocolate mixture. Fold in the toasted walnuts and pour into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes, until set around the edges but slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly. Carefully remove from the pan, cut into slices and serve.
