Number Of Ingredients 5

1 large turnip, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, such as Colavita
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 lemon, juiced and put into 2 cups of water to create acidulated water

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. Place turnip slices into acidulated water, for 5 minutes, to keep from turning brown. 3. Pat slices dry. Toss with evoo, salt, and pepper. Arrange turnips, in a single layer, on prepared pan. Roast in a 400°F oven for 30 minutes, or until brown and crispy. A healthy twist on a salty snack, these baked turnip chips will be devoured by kids and adults alike.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 large turnips (skin peeled)
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees and line two baking sheets with tin foil. Spray foil with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Using a mandoline, thinly slice the turnips into chips and place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle turnip slices with olive oil, salt and pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.
  • Spread chips in an even layer on baking sheets. Be careful not to over-crowd.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • Let cool 10 minutes to continue crisping then serve.
