Since I'm on Atkins, I'm always looking for something repeatable and delicious, and I've found it! We love this tuna patty at lunch. Highly Atkins/low-carb-friendly.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (5 ounce) can tuna packed in water, drained
1 egg
½ stalk celery, chopped
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, or to taste
1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill, or to taste
1 tablespoon butter
¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Stir tuna, egg, celery, mayonnaise, walnuts, parsley, and dill together in a bowl until evenly combined. Form mixture into two patties.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties in hot butter until firm and golden, 2 to 3 minutes; flip and top each patty with Cheddar cheese. Continue cooking until second side is golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes more.

I have lived in Hawaii my whole life. I grew up going to the beach & catching fresh fish for dinner, or dad would bring them home from a weekend fishing trip. I dont go fishing as much now, but I still buy only fresh fish. If am not eatting it "RAW". I am frying the fish. Is yummy with some fresh cooked rice & a bowl of vnger & shoyu... Good.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pound(s) ahi, fresh & sliced in to steaks
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt and pepper
1/3 cup(s) canola oil
1 tablespoon(s) flour

Steps:

  • First pre-heat the oil. Then once hot sprinkle the flour into the hot oil. Then slice the Ahi into steak chunks. Then lightly salt& pepper both sides of the fish.
  • Then fry on both sides for about 3 to 4 mins on each side.
  • Drain on a plate covered with a paper towel.
  • Special Tip: I use 1 to 2 pieces of bread to soak up the oil.

This recipe is from Family Fun magazine which says this recipe is "not quite authentic, but very, very good." If cut-up broccoli is available at your salad bar, preparation time is even faster. Next time, I'm going to try broccolini. I also add more tuna, if I have it.
