Toffee Crunch Grahams Recipe: How to Make It image

Only four ingredients make up these toffee bars loaded with crunchy almonds. "My sister gave me the recipe years ago, and it's still a family favorite," shares Carol Horne, Perth Ontario.

12 whole graham crackers
1-1/2 cups butter, cubed
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups sliced almonds

Steps:

  • Line a 15x10x1-in. baking pan with heavy-duty foil. Place graham crackers in pan. In a saucepan, bring butter and brown sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. Carefully pour over graham crackers. Sprinkle with almonds. , Bake at 400° for 6-8 minutes or until bubbly. Cool in pan for 4 minutes. Cut each cracker into four sections; transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

8 sheets graham crackers
8 ounces salted butter (2 sticks) 
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans 

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and line a 13-by-9-inch baking sheet.
  • Break the sheets of graham crackers on the perforated lines into smaller 1-by-3-inch rectangles, and lay them out on the prepared baking sheet as close together as possible, covering the entire sheet.
  • Mix the butter and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter and sugar mixture comes to a bubble, add the chopped pecans and stir together.
  • Pour the mixture evenly over all of the crackers. Bake for 10 minutes and then cool, about 30 minutes. Break or cut into pieces to serve.
