3 eggs
0.333 cup caster sugar (plus more for sprinkling)
0.75 cup all-purpose flour
1.333 cups cream (48% fat)
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
6 tablespoons Strawberry Jam (warmed)

Steps:

  • For the sponge: eat the oven to 220°C (200° fan) 425°F gas 7. Line a 20 cm x 30 cm| 8" x 12" Swiss Roll tin with non-stick baking paper.
  • Place the eggs and sugar in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering (not boiling) water and whisk until the mixture is thick, creamy and leaves a trail. Sift in the flour and fold in gently.
  • Pour the mixture into the tin and bake for10-12 minutes, until risen and golden. Remove from the oven and immediately turn out on to a large sheet of non-stick baking paper sprinkled with sugar.
  • Quickly trim off the crusty edges of the cake and roll up firmly from a short end, with the paper inside. Cover with a tea towel so the cake remains soft. Leave to become cold.
  • For the filling: whisk the cream and icing sugar until thick.
  • Unroll the sponge, remove the paper and spread the jam evenly over the sponge. Spread the cream on top. Roll up carefully and place on a serving plate.

1/2 tablespoon butter
2 lbs chuck steaks, cut 1 inch thick
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 lb mushroom, sliced
1/2 green pepper, sliced
1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes, juice drained and reserved
1/4 teaspoon salt
fresh ground pepper
1 tablespoon A.1. Original Sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
aluminum foil, 20 inch sheet
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Spread center of aluminum foil with butter.
  • Cut steak into serving portions.
  • Arrange on foil, slightly overlapping.
  • Sprinkle with onion soup mix, mushrooms, green pepper, tomatoes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix reserved juice from the tomatoes, A-1 sauce and cornstarch.
  • Pour over meat and vegetables.
  • Bring foil up over and double-fold edges to seal tightly.
  • Bake 2 hours in 350 oven.
  • Carefully roll back foil and garnish with parsley.
  • Note- During the last 1 1/2 hours, bake potatoes along side the meat packet and serve with this dish.
