Provided by Alicia

Prep Time 20 minutes

Cook Time 35 minutes

Yield 6 treats, 1 cake

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 cup pureed red pepper (Make sure to drain out any excess water before adding to the dough)
1 cup cooked, mashed sweet potato
1/4 cup gluten free oats
3/4 cup Coconut Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 Egg
gluten free flour for dusting
1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup pureed blueberries

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350. Mix together all ingredients except for any gluten free flour
  • Once the ingredients become like dough, you can sprinkle some gluten free flour on wax paper and roll out your dough
  • Use cookie cutters, I used the bone one out of this set: http://amzn.to/2eOorSr to create a few cookies. Bake the cookies on parchment paper
  • For the cake - take the excess dough (or all of it if you choose) and place it in a greased loaf pan like this: http://amzn.to/2vPjTCO
  • The cake dough can be about 1/2 an inch thick and does not have to take up the entire loaf pan. Since I made a few treats and a cake, my cake only took up half this pan
  • You may need to dust more flour on the cake or treats before baking
  • Place treats and/or cake in the oven on the middle rack and bake for 35 minutes
  • Once they've finished baking, cool the treats/cake and then frost with plain greek yogurt
  • Take the pureed blueberries and place in the bottom corner of a plastic bag. Cut the tip off the bag and you can write on the cake or treats
  • I placed a plain dog bone treat on top of the cake for added cuteness! Hope your dog(s) enjoy!
  • I also froze the treats and cake for a few hours because I knew I wouldn't be using them for awhile. You can also keep them in the refrigerator so the yogurt doesn't melt :)

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 45 minutes

Yield 32 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 sweet potato
2?½ cups whole wheat flour
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
2 eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prick sweet potato several times with a fork.
  • Heat sweet potato in a microwave on high until tender, about 6 minutes. Cut potato in half and scoop flesh out of the skin into a bowl; discard skin. Mash potato with a fork or potato masher and transfer about 1 cup to a large bowl. Save any remaining sweet potato for another use.
  • Mix whole wheat flour, applesauce, and eggs in the large bowl with the sweet potato until a dough forms. Turn dough out on a well-floured surface and roll dough to about 1/2-inch thick. Cut out shapes using a cookie cutter or cut dough into strips with a pizza cutter. Arrange cookies on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake until crisp, 35 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
