8 slices white or whole grain bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
Cooking spray
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Top bread cubes with your favorite dried herbs and spices and you can enjoy a different crouton snack every day of the week! The sweet croutons battle the mid-morning grumble and they're amazing over a scoop of frozen yogurt for dessert. Preheat oven to 375°. Arrange croutons in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Spray the surface with cooking spray and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Developed by Robin Miller on behalf of the Grain Foods Foundation.

2 tablespoons softened butter
4 slices white bread
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Spread butter onto both sides of each slice of bread, and cut into cubes. Place them in a bag or bowl, and pour the cinnamon sugar over them. Shake or stir to coat. Arrange the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, then stir and continue baking for 10 more minutes, until toasted.
