This recipe is for the bread machine. It is similar to homemade grandmother's sweet bread.

1 cup milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons margarine
⅓ cup white sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • Add ingredients in order suggested by your manufacturer.
  • Select "sweet bread" setting.

This recipe was developed by me. It is a sweeter version of my Fabulous Honey White Bread recipe posted here on recipezaar. Toast this and slather with butter and cinnamon, your mouth will thank you!

Cook Time 3 hours

Yield 1 1/2 LB. Loaf

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/4 cups warm milk
1 1/2 tablespoons oil
1/4 cup honey, plus
2 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast or 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast (1/2t per cup of flour)

Steps:

  • Place ingredients into bread machine according to machines specifications.
  • Use basic white bread cycle, light crust setting.
  • One tip- To get all your honey out of the measuring cups, stir around in the warm milk.
  • You may also try substituting some flour with dry oatmeal for a Sweet Honey Oatmeal Bread. Just watch your liquid amount, it may need more or less.

Simple and easy bread recipe. I followed the recipe to a T. Used this recipe to make pigs in blankets and the bread turn out wonderful! Reason why I only rate it 4 stars is bc the title sweet bread just wasn't sweet enough. Next time instead of 1/3 cup sugar I will make it 1/2 cup sugar. Thanks for recipe :)
