Number Of Ingredients 5

1¼ cups divided water
½ cup white vinegar
1 cup sugar
¼ cup Corn Starch
optional red food coloring

Steps:

  • Add 1 cup of water, white vinegar and sugar to a saucepan, then bring them to a boil.
  • Add the cornstarch to the remaining ¼ cup of water in a small bowl.
  • Whisk until the cornstarch has dissolved.
  • Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan.
  • Whisk until combined.
  • Reduce the heat to a simmer.
  • Cook the sauce for 5 to 7 until thickened.
  • Add a few drops of red food coloring, if desired, then stir to combine.
  • Serve with favorite dumplings or other meals, and enjoy!
