Steps:
- In a bowl, cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add water and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in sunflower sees. , Shape into 1-in. balls; place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 350° for 11-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

- Cream sugar and butter or margarine. Add flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Then add coconut and sunflower seeds. Mix well.
- Shape into one inch balls and bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 15 minutes or until delicately browned.

- Bananas should be really ripe. Preheat oven to 350. Peel and mash bananas. In large bowl, beat oil, bananas, and sugar. Mix flour with sunflower seeds and soda. Add in dry ingredients to banana mix and stir till thoroughly mixed. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 15 min, till edges are golden. I got this recipe from my Grandmother. They are really wonderful cookies, moist, chewy, and nutty. She makes them with only 1/2 c. sugar and they taste great!
