PERFECT HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE
Homemade applesauce is simple to make, makes the kitchen smell incredible, and tastes much better than anything you can buy at the store. Use apples that you enjoy eating. We particularly love using crisp, sweet apples when making applesauce and generally do not add any sweetener. If you feel the applesauce needs some extra sweetness, add a sweetener to taste at the end of cooking. We recommend brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey. Skin-on or peeled apples? Applesauce made with the peel left on has more color and a bit more flavor. I use a food mill fitted with a medium disk to blend the sauce and remove most of the cooked skins for the best texture. If you do not have a food mill, you can puree the skins into the sauce. Or pass the sauce through a mesh strainer to remove the skins. If you don’t want to go through any of these extra steps, use peeled apples.

QUICK HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE - NO SUGAR ADDED RECIPE - FOO…
A quick, easy homemade applesauce recipe that I served with potato latkes this year. It has no added sugar, which makes it a better option for diabetics and low-carb people and others who avoid cane sugar. But if you prefer a sweeter sauce, add 1/2 cup of sugar. I recommend using 1/2 sweet apples (I like Braeburn) and 1/2 tart apples (Granny Smith, for example). Don't leave out the salt, it's a necessary ingredient for a good applesauce!

EASY STOVETOP APPLESAUCE (IN LESS THAN 1 HOUR) - A BAKING ...
19/5/2019 · Smooth vs Chunky Applesauce. Another great thing about this recipe is that once the apples have finished cooking, it is completely up to you to choose the consistency of your applesauce.. I personally blend the apples very finely to get a smooth applesauce, but you can also blend the apples for a few seconds only (or even just use a fork to mash the apples) to get a thick, chunky applesauce.
