I LOVE kettle corn, and after much experimentation, I have created the perfect recipe for home-made kettle corn by using my favorite popcorn-making device--the Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper.

Yield 1 large bowl of kettle corn, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 cup popcorn
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
salt

Steps:

  • Make sure your Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper is turned off.
  • Using your Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper, combine ingredients on the non-stick surface of the machine.
  • Cover the Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper with the bowl provided by Stir Crazy.
  • Turn on Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper.
  • Watch the popcorn pop! It's fun!
  • When only 3 seconds remain in between pops, flip Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper over to yield a big bowl of kettle corn.
  • Salt to your liking!

Easy Beef & Broccoli Stir Fry Recipe - BistroMD image

Skip the takeout and try our homemade beef and broccoli stir fry, a healthier version of a favorite meal! This dish pairs well with our sesame roasted carrots!

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
1 Tbsp sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup white onion, julienned
4 green onions, thinly sliced
4 cups broccoli florets
2 Tbsp arrowroot starch (or another preferred thickener such as corn starch)
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp ginger, minced

Steps:

  • 1. Cut the beef across the grain into thin, even slices.
  • 2. Heat sesame oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until well-browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Once browned, remove from the pan, drain on paper towels, and set aside.
  • 3. In the same pan used for the beef, add garlic, white onion, and green onions. Cook about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Add broccoli, cover and allow to continue cooking for 5 minutes.
  • 4. In a small bowl, whisk arrowroot starch and water until smooth without clumps. For the sauce mixture, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and ginger in a medium bowl. Add arrowroot starch mixture and stir to combine. Set aside.
  • 5. Remove the cover from pan and add the sauce. Cook until the sauce starts to thicken, about 3 to 5 minutes. Add beef and stir to combine, cooking an additional 2 to 3 minutes until sauce is well incorporated.
  • 6. Serve with fluffy brown rice and sesame carrots as desired, or other satisfying pairing suggestions below!
