Masala Steak Pita Pockets Crumbed Mushroomsonion My Version

Number Of Ingredients 32

1 kg rump/topside steak
1 tablespoon crushed garlic
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon red chili paste
3 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon dhana powder
1 teaspoon jeera powder
½ teaspoon haldi
1 teaspoon gorimas orange pepper spice
1 tablespoon gorimas steak and chops spice
crushed red chilis
2 tablespoon steers peri sauce
2 tablespoon tomato sauce
1 punnet mushrooms cleaned
1 egg
¼ cup milk
salt
crushed black pepper
flour
corn flake crumbs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon yeast
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter)
half a beaten egg
and roll not so thin.
ONIONS:
sprinkle some salt
sprinkle some brown sugar
add some butter / I used coconut oil

Steps:

  • STEAK : Marinade and cook steak until tender. CRUMBED MUSHROOMS: whisk egg, milk and spices together , dip each mushroom in egg mixture, then flour , the egg mixture and lastly place add corn flake crumbs to a packet add the mushroom and shake it till all mushrooms coated nicely. deep fry them ( I air fried the mushrooms this time , added 1 tbsp coconut oil ) you can do this in advance leave them in the bag and fry just before you eat ONIONS: Place onions in a glass bowl with butter salt and sugar and microwave for 5 to 7 minutes . worked very well . mostly I fry in pan but this was yummy .

½ cup red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon Greek seasoning (such as McCormick)
? teaspoon black pepper
1 (1-pound) flank steak, trimmed
½ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (6-ounce) package fresh baby spinach
4 (6-inch) pitas, cut in half
½ cup thinly sliced red onion
24 slices English cucumber
½ cup (2 ounces) crumbled feta cheese

Steps:

  • Combine first 3 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag; add steak to bag. Marinate 3 minutes, turning once. Remove steak from bag; discard marinade. Sprinkle steak with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter and oil. Add steak; cook 5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Let stand 2 minutes. Cut steak across grain into thin slices.
  • Return pan to heat. Add juice, garlic, and spinach; sauté 1 minute. Remove from heat; add remaining salt.
  • Spoon 2 tablespoons spinach mixture into each pita half. Place 1 tablespoon onion, 3 cucumber slices, and 1 1/2 ounces steak in each pita half; sprinkle 1 tablespoon cheese in each pita half.
  • Creamy hummus: Combine 1 cup rinsed and drained canned chickpeas, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 tablespoon tahini (roasted sesame seed paste), 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper in a food processor; process until well blended. Gradually add 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil; process until smooth. Serve with red pepper slices and baby carrots.
