HOT SPICED RUM CIDER | WILLIAMS SONOMA
<p>Apple cider simmered with seasonal spices and spiked with rum is the perfect way to stay warm in the winter. This recipe combines fragrant mulling spices with our cider concentrate, a blend of freshly pressed juices of five Washington State apples.</p>

- Put the mulling spices in a spice ball.
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, combine the apple cider concentrate and water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, add the spice ball and gently simmer for 20 minutes.
- Pour 1 1/2 fl. oz. (45 ml) rum into each of 4 warmed mugs. Top each with 1 cup (8 fl. oz./250 ml) spiced cider and add a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately. Serves 4.

- In a large pot over medium heat, add the apple cider. Stir in the brown sugar, allspice and nutmeg until the sugar is dissolved and bring to a low boil.
- Stick the pointy ends of the cloves into the orange so that just the buds of the cloves are visible. The entire orange should be covered with the cloves.
- Add the orange to the cider and reduce the heat to simmer. Cover and continue cooking for 20 minutes.
- Serve in warm mugs with a cinnamon stick garnish. For adults, add bourbon to the cider.

- Stud the apple with the cloves. In a medium pot, combine the studded apple and remaining ingredients except the rum. Slowly bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the rum. Discard the apple. Ladle into mugs and garnish each with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
