A zesty dipping sauce somewhere between Freddy’s Fry Sauce and Chick-Fil-A Sauce made with a splash of pickle juice, that’s perfect for everything from French fries to chicken tenders to burgers to fried shrimp!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon barbeque sauce
2 teaspoons dill pickle juice
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients then mix well.
  • Refrigerate in an air-tight container.
  • Store up to 4 weeks.

South Your Mouth: Cabbage Stew image

An easy, hearty stew recipe made with cabbage, smoked sausage or kielbasa and potatoes.

Cook Time 55 minutes

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound smoked sausage, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 onion, chopped
1-2 carrots, shredded
3-4 tablespoons bacon grease (can substitute butter)
1 small head of cabbage, chopped into 1” pieces
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
6 cups chicken broth
5 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 10.5-oz. can cream of celery soup

Steps:

  • Sauté sausage in vegetable oil in a large stock pot or Dutch oven until nicely browned.
  • Add onion and carrots and continue cooking until onions are semi-translucent.
  • Add bacon grease, cabbage, salt, pepper and garlic and continue cooking and stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth and potatoes then stir well. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer stew for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Stir in cream of celery soup, reduce heat to low, cover then continue cooking for 10-15 minutes.

  • Mix first10 ingredients. Place onion, green pepper and celery in a 5-qt. slow cooker; place roast over top. Pour tomato mixture over roast. Cook, covered, on low until meat is tender, 5-6 hours., Remove roast. Strain cooking juices, reserving vegetables. Transfer juices to a small saucepan; skim fat. Mix cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into cooking juices. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Serve roast and vegetables with gravy.
    Freeze option: Place sliced beef and vegetables in freezer containers; top with gravy. Cool and freeze. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through slowly in a covered saucepan, stirring gently and adding a little broth or water if necessary.
