Ingredients

1 cup butter-flavored shortening
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon water
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

In a large bowl, cream the shortening, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and water. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. , Drop by tablespoons 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork. Bake at 350° until golden brown, 12-15 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

In a bowl, cream butter and sugars; beat in peanut butter, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. , Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° until golden brown, 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute before removing to a wire rack.
