Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C ).
- In a medium bowl, cream together shortening, cream cheese, and sugar. Beat in egg yolk, vanilla, and orange zest. Continue beating until light and fluffy. Gradually stir in flour, salt, and cinnamon. Fill the cookie press, and form cookies on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet, and cool on wire racks.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Gradually add flour and mix well. Divide in half. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until easy to handle., On a lightly floured surface, roll out one portion of dough to 1/4-in. thickness. Cut with a floured 4-in. snowflake-shaped cookie cutter. Place 1 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. , Bake at 300° for 8-10 minutes or until firm. Repeat with remaining dough. Chill and reroll scraps if desired. , In a small resealable plastic bag, combine edible glitter and remaining sugar. Seal bag; crush mixture to break glitter into smaller pieces. Sprinkle over warm cookies. Cool for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

In another large bowl using a hand mixer or the bowl of a stand mixer using the paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar until fluffy and pale in color. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and beat until combined. Add flour mixture gradually until totally combined. Shape into a disk and wrap in plastic. Refrigerate 1 hour. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350º and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Lightly flour a clean work surface and roll out dough to 1/8" thick. Cut out snowflakes and transfer to baking sheets. Freeze 10 minutes. Bake cookies until edges are lightly golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool completely before icing. Meanwhile, make icing: In a medium bowl, stir powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk, and almond extract. Add more milk a teaspoon at a time to thin, if necessary. Transfer half the icing to a small bowl and tint with blue food coloring. Transfer both icings to two piping bags and ice cookies. Decorate with pearl sprinkles.
