Perfect any day or night of the week, this delicious homemade pizza is a great way to bring your family together.

1 pkg(s) Eckrich Smoked Sausage (12oz-14oz)
1 lb. pre-made pizza dough
14 oz. jar prepared pizza sauce
1 whole red bell pepper
1 whole yellow bell pepper
1 whole green bell pepper
1 whole onion
1 clove(s) garlic, (minced)
8 oz. package shredded mozzarella or pizza blend cheese
2 tsp. olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly oil pizza pan or medium baking sheet.
  • Slice sausage into ¼-inch pieces.
  • Slice peppers into thin strips.
  • Slice onion into thin strips.
  • Unroll dough, and press into the prepared pizza pan or baking sheet, stretching to fit the pan. Spread pizza sauce on crust.
  • Top pizza with garlic, cheese, sausage, peppers and onion.
  • Bake until crust turns golden-brown and cheese is lightly browned, about 20 minutes.
  • Slice as desired and serve.

Cornmeal for pan
1 pound Pizza Dough Prestissimo, (recipe follows)
? cup marinara sauce
1 small onion, thinly sliced (1/2 cup)
1/2 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (cup)
2 ounces smoked turkey sausage, or turkey kielbasa, thinly sliced
2 ounces shredded Monterey Jack, or part-skim mozzarella cheese (1/2 cup)
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
Pinch of red-pepper flakes (optional)
Salt & freshly ground pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Position rack in lower third of oven; preheat to 450 degrees F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray and sprinkle with cornmeal to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle flour over a work surface. Roll out dough to the size of the baking sheet and transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough. Scatter onion, bell pepper, sausage and cheese over the top and sprinkle with oregano and crushed red pepper (if using). Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Bake until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted, 12 to 15 minutes.
