I found this recipe in a collection of recipes from a ladies group cookbook. I looked very interesting in that you preheat your oven and when you have panned your cookies you put them in the oven and turn off the oven for the night or during the day until the oven is cold.

Cook Time 5 hours

Yield 1 cookie sheet

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 egg whites
2/3 cup sugar
1 dash salt
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup chocolate chips or 1 cup butterscotch chips

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degF.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff, then gradually add the sugar and salt.
  • Beat until sugar is dissolved.
  • Stir in walnuts and chocolate or butterscotch bits.
  • Drop by teaspoon on oiled, foil covered cookie sheet.
  • Put into oven and turn off oven.
  • Leave in all night- (DO NOT PEEK)-or during the daytime and left in the oven until it is cold.

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 whole Onion Rolls
1 c. Grated Cheddar Cheese
8 oz. weight Cream Cheese
1 1/2 stick Butter
10 whole Eggs
2 c. Milk
1 tsp. Chopped Chives
1/2 tsp. Dry Mustard
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 dash Cayenne Pepper

Steps:

  • Generously butter an 9x13 baking dish. Tear onion rolls into chunks and place them in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, then tear cream cheese into small pieces and place over the top. Cut 1 ½ sticks butter into pats and place over the top.Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the top of the dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.The next morning, bake at 325 degrees, covered, for 45 minutes. The remove foil and continue baking at 350 for 10-15 minutes.Eat. Faint. Repeat.
