PANTRY SHEPHERD'S PIE | JUST A PINCH RECIPES
There seems to be a hundred different ways to make shepherd's pie. This is the way my Mom taught my sister and me to make it. I called it "pantry" because you can throw this together with whatever you have in the pantry or larder. It is quick, easy, impressive, and satisfying. We used biscuits for the top, but many people use mashed potatoes. I could not find a picture even remotely similar so I just used what I could find - with various toppings. Thought I would post it before the weather gets too warm because this is definitely a cold weather dish. Warm and comforting.

CLASSIC SHEPHERD'S PIE RECIPE - THE FOOD CHARLATAN

They are identical but, shepherd’s pie is made with lamb, while cottage pie is made with ground beef. Americans are pretty ubiquitous in making this mistake, but as a food writer please don’t perpetuate it :)
