- In a small bowl, add 3/4 cup boiling water to 1 gelatin package; stir 2 minutes to completely dissolve. Stir in 3/4 cup cold water. Pour into a 3-qt. trifle or glass bowl. Refrigerate until set but not firm, about 40 minutes., In a clean bowl, dissolve another gelatin package into 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup milk. Spoon over the first layer. Refrigerate until set but not firm., Repeat 5 times, alternating plain and creamy gelatin layers. Refrigerate each layer until set but not firm before adding the next layer. Refrigerate, covered, overnight. Serve with whipped topping and, if desired, fruit.

- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 11 x 7 baking pan. Stir together melted butter and graham cracker crumbs. Press into prepared pan. Add the other ingredients in order: coconut, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the top. Add the pecans. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack. Place pan in the refrigerator and serve cold.

- In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Drain pineapple, setting the pineapple aside and adding juice to gelatin. Stir in cranberry sauce, lemon juice, zest and nutmeg. Chill until mixture thickens. Fold in sour cream, pineapple and pecans. Pour into a glass serving bowl or an oiled 9-cup mold. Chill until set, at least 2 hours.

Usually a bit thicker than what our recipe calls for but still a good choice. Buy 1½ pounds. Sizes vary by shop; if needed, trim the noodles during assembly to fill the pan without much overlap. Dried: If you spot imported dried egg noodles, they're worth the splurge, but standard supermarket durum wheat will work just fine (avoid no-boil, though). Supermarket noodles are thicker, so make fewer layers. Cook 24 noodles (1–1½ boxes) per package instructions; divide sauces evenly among 6 layers. Trim noodles as needed.
