Maryland Crab balls are small crab cakes that can be seen at Chesapeake Bay-themed events and fairs all summer long. They are the perfect size to pass around and enjoy. Crab ball recipes are distinctive to each family, and in ours, there is often debate about which method is superior. While some people like adding a little sweetness and flavor with minced red bell pepper and scallion, I prefer the more classic recipe of adding Ritz crackers. Every bite is a celebration! The trick to these festive little appetizers, whether you're making a dozen or a hundred, is the pre-measured mix! These scrumptious Maryland crab balls will be the hit of the party, whether it's a holiday, housewarming, cocktail, or football party. Let's get started! What you'll need to make this Maryland Crab Balls recipe These baked Maryland crab balls are a simple and enjoyable dish to prepare. OLD BAY KING CRAB LEGS RECIPE | FOOD NETWORK KITCHEN ...

Old Bay King Crab Legs Recipe | Food Network Kitchen ... image

The classic seafood seasoning and lemon bring heat and brightness to sweet crab meat. The only way to improve it is with a dunk in drawn butter.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Total Time 35 minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield 2 to 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 pounds frozen cooked king crab legs
One 6-ounce box seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay, plus additional as needed
2 lemons
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter

Steps:

  • Put the crab legs in the bottom of a large stockpot, then cover with 4 quarts of water and stir in the seafood seasoning (see Cook's Note). Halve the lemons and squeeze the juice into the pot, then add the rinds. Cover and bring to a boil, then cook over medium-high heat until the crab legs are warmed through, about 5 minutes. Remove the crab legs to a large serving bowl or platter.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook until the butter foams and simmers, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and let stand 5 minutes. Using a spoon, remove any milk solids from the surface of the butter, then slowly pour the melted butter into a small serving bowl, leaving any watery, white whey behind in the saucepan. Serve alongside the crab legs.

THE ORIGINAL OLD BAY® SHRIMP BOIL SHRIMP FEST | OLD BAY
Every coastal town seems to have their own version of a seafood feast. There’s clam bakes, crab boils and shrimp fests … but in Charleston, they call it Frogmore Stew. With a heavy-handed sprinkle of OLD BAY, jumbo shrimp and freshly shucked sweet yellow corn are cooked to tender perfection. Best enjoyed on paper plates, over newspaper covered picnic tables, with your favorite ice-cold brew.

SEAFOOD (CRAB, SHRIMP AND LOBSTER) BOIL AND HOW TO OPEN ...
This was fun. This is our 5th summer having this. Of course it 's always different! This year my DS 's Lydia brought the lobster, and Theresa brought the Dungeness crabs as well as regular crabs. This is made in those outdoor boiler-fryers. But I won 't stop you from making it on your stove top. We covered the table with plastic tablecloths then covered it with brown paper (paper used for wrapping packages). And of course you can cut down the recipe. Just leave the first 8 ingredients as is then add whatever and amount of seafood you 'd like. Don 't forget the bibs or aprons and nutcrackers, hammers, small mallets, nut picks and paper towels. Oh an empty large foil pan or a trash can for discarding the shells. Don't forget plenty of beer! Crawfish and mussels would be great in this too. • Be sure to put the garbage bags in tightly sealed cans to keep animals out. Even if you wash your hands thoroughly with soap the smell of crabs and Old Bay may linger for a day. Rubbing lemon juice mixed with baking soda on your hands will remove this odor.
