Grilling asparagus really brings out a terrific flavor. Easy too, just add to the grill as you're cooking the meat. The seasoning is just a guideline, use whatever herb or seasoning you like. We've used basil, oregeno, etc.

1 lb asparagus
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt

Steps:

  • Remove woody ends from asparagus and discard.
  • Place asparagus in large ziploc bag. Pour in oil and sprinkle seasoning.
  • Close bag forcing out air. Rub asparagus through bag to evenly distribute seasonings.
  • Grill to your taste. We use a pan for the grill that has holes in it. Often serve with grilled shrimp since it can all be placed in the same pan. Delicious.

As a kid, I really disliked asparagus! They were always cooked to a "perfect mush!" This recipe makes me crave the veggie I disliked most as a child! Crisp aspargus, easy recipe. The juice has an "Italian-like" flavor. From the Tastefully Simple recipe file, I suggest using their seasoned salt to make this perfect!

1 1/2 lbs fresh asparagus, hard ends trimmed
1 -2 tablespoon olive oil
1 -2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 -2 teaspoon seasoning salt
2 -3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet or broiler pan (suggested).
  • Drizzle with oil and lemon juice; sprinkle with seasoned salt - coat evenly.
  • Bake at 450 F for a total of 10 minutes or until crisp-tender. For a more even tenderness, turn each aspargus stalk after 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese immediately before serving.

I read on somebody's page here on Zaar that they didn't like Old Bay Seasoning. Poor Old Bay! I was surprised by that and I got out my good ole' Old Bay. It is a mixture of some of the great seasonings out there,,,celery salt, mustard, red pepper, black pepper, bay leaves, cloves, allspice, ginger, mace, cardamom, cinnamon, and paprika.
