6 English muffins (12 halves)
1/2-1 cup butter
1 jar Kraft Old English cheese spread
1 can baby shrimp or 1 can crabmeat
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt

Steps:

  • Cream butter and cheese together.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients.
  • Drain shrimp or crabmeat.
  • Add to mixture.
  • Spread on muffins and broil until brown.
  • Watch out, they can burn!

Crab on Crackers Hors d'Oeuvres ... - Just A Pinch Recipes image

This hors d'Oeuvre is relatively easy to produce, and makes a great way to keep your guests happy while waiting for the main event. And with only six ingredients, it's a snap to put together. Actually, I’m make a bunch of these up for one of my clients, and I’ll probably save a few for my July 4th party coming up this week.

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 ounce(s) fresh crabmeat, picked over for shells
3 tablespoon(s) mayo
1 teaspoon(s) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 pinch(es) cayenne pepper
4 slice(s) bacon, thick sliced
15-20 slice(s) colby cheese, cut into 1-inch squares about 1/8 inch thick

Steps:

  • Gather all your ingredients
  • Sauté the bacon until crisp, but not too crisp
  • Remove from pan and allow to drain and cool on some paper towels
  • Chef's Note: Reserve the bacon grease for another use (I’m planning on sautéing a couple of chicken breasts with it… but that’s another recipe).
  • Chop the bacon into small pieces and reserve.
  • Add the mayo, lemon juice, salt & pepper (to taste), and the cayenne pepper to a bowl, and mix thoroughly.
  • Carefully fold in the crab until fully incorporated.
  • Place a heaping teaspoon of the crab mixture on a cracker, and add a few pieces of chopped bacon.
  • Cover with a piece of the cheese, and place in a broiler and broil until the cheese bubbles and begins to brown.
  • Serve with a lemon or lime wedge. Enjoy.
  • Keep the faith and keep cooking.
