1 lb asparagus, trimmed
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 lemon, juice of
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Bring water to a boil in a large saute pan. Add asparagus and blanch for 2 minutes. Transfer asparagus to a plate and pour off the water.
  • Melt butter in the pan over medium heat. Add asparagus and saute 1 - 2 minutes, tossing to coat.
  • Squeese lemon over asparagus; season with salt and pepper.

1 bunch fresh asparagus
3 cloves garlic, chopped

Steps:

  • Melt the butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and asparagus spears; cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until asparagus is tender. If you like your asparagus well done, reduce heat and cook an additional 10 minutes.
