kosher salt

unsalted butter, at room temperature

2 c.

powdered sugar

5 tbsp.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° and line a 9"-x-9" baking dish with foil along the bottom and up the sides.Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes. Add egg and molasses and beat until well combined. In another bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda and salt, then add to wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes. Evenly spread dough into prepared pan and bake until lightly golden, 18 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool in pan. When completely cool, remove bars from pan. Make frosting: Beat butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and mix until smooth, then add caramel and mix until smooth. Spread frosting onto bars and top with sprinkles. Cut into squares and serve. Store in an airtight container up to 4 days.

8 ounces mini pretzels
1 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
2 cups milk chocolate chips
sea salt to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line an 11x17-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  • Spread pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Combine butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-low heat; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is thickened, 5 to 8 minutes. Pour mixture over pretzels.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over pretzel mixture. Bake for 1 minute more. Stir mixture to evenly spread chocolate over pretzels. Lightly sprinkle salt over pretzels. Cool until set, 2 to 3 hours. Break into pieces.

In large heavy skillet on medium, cook pecans, sugar and water, stirring frequently, until bubbling, 2 to 3 minutes. Continue cooking and stirring until liquid evaporates and sugar crystallizes (nuts will look sandy), 5 to 7 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring constantly, until sugar becomes golden and syrupy, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove skillet from heat and immediately stir in cinnamon, chili powder, cayenne and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Quickly spread nuts on prepared pan. Cool completely before breaking into clumps. Topping Idea: Miso Caramel: In small saucepan on medium-low, combine cream and butter, stirring, until melted. Whisk in miso and sugar; cook, whisking, until slightly thickened and mixture coats the back of a spoon, 6 to 8 minutes. Use right away or refrigerate and rewarm before serving. Makes 2/3 cup. Topping Idea: Maple-Roasted Strawberries: Heat oven to 350°F and line large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In large bowl, whisk maple syrup, olive oil, vinegar and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
