SUGAR ROASTED CHESTNUTS RECIPE - SIMPLE CHINESE FOOD
In the golden autumn season, what I am most worried about is chestnuts. The sweetness and nutrition of chestnuts are unforgettable. In Liang Shiqiu's pen: "In Peiping, after the autumn festival every year, a large iron pot is erected outside the door of almost every dried fruit shop on the street, a short section of chimney is tilted up, and a small Liba swings a large shovel. Stir-fried chestnuts. It is not dry stir-fried, but it is stir-fried with sand, and sugar is added to make the sand form large and small pieces, so it is called sugar-fried chestnuts. The black smoke of bituminous coal spreads, the sound of stir-frying, and the explosion of millet sometimes : Sound, woven into a lively scene of late autumn and early winter. There are no children who don’t like to eat chestnuts. Buy a pack of a few copper plates, wrap them in straw paper, and tie them with hemp stems. It’s hot, sometimes it’s hot. Take it home, reluctant to finish it for a while, and hide it in the quilt to keep it warm." This chestnut is extremely vital in the writer's writing.
Nowadays, chestnut specialty stores use machines to fry chestnuts, home-made street [sugar-fried chestnuts] can be used in microwave ovens, electric baking pans, pressure cookers, ovens, etc. The creativity of eating goods is unlimited. I personally like to use the oven to make [Sugar Roasted Chestnuts], which is simple, convenient, and close to the street taste.
Chestnut is rich in nutrition and is known as the "King of Thousand Fruits". It is called "Five Fruits" together with peaches, apricots, plums, and dates. It is called "health food" abroad. It is a superior fruit for invigorating the spleen and kidneys and prolonging life. May wish to make [Sugar Roasted Chestnuts] at home this fall to appreciate the street delicacies!
