This is an easy dish to prepare directly in your rice cooker. Tastes like it took all day to prepare. Sausage maybe added to the dish.

2 cups rice, uncooked
1 can beef broth
1 onion, chopped fine
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 (4 oz) can mushrooms
1 can broth of choice
1 stick softened butter or margarine
1 pound shrimp, cleaned and deveined
salt, pepper, garlic powder and Tony's Chachere's to taste
1/2 pounds smoked sausage optional

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients into the rice cooker.
  • Stir once during the cooking process.
  • When the bell goes off, the meal is done.

1?½ cups uncooked long grain rice
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 small onion, diced
1 bunch green onions, diced
1 pound peeled crawfish tails
1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
4 tablespoons margarine
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning, or to taste

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine rice, green pepper, onion, green onions, crawfish tails, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, margarine, parsley, and Cajun seasoning. Pour into rice cooker, and cook for 1 cycle, or until liquid is absorbed, about 30 minutes. Taste, and adjust seasonings.
