Ingredients

1 small grapefruit, quartered and thinly sliced (1 cup)
1 lime, quartered and thinly sliced (1/4 cup)
2 cups hulled and halved strawberries (quartered, if large)
5 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup vodka or blanco tequila
1/4 cup Cointreau or other orange liqueur
Frozen fruit, for serving (optional)
1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine, chilled, for serving
Seltzer or citrus soda, for serving (optional)

Steps:

Toss fresh fruits with sugar, vodka, and Cointreau. Cover; refrigerate, tossing occasionally, at least 4 hours and up to 1 day. Fill a glass halfway with frozen fruit, if desired. Add macerated fruits, and top with wine and a splash of seltzer, if desired.

Ingredients

¾ cup rum
? cup white sugar
1 green apple, cored and sliced
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1 (750 milliliter) bottle red wine
1 cup orange juice
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage

Steps:

Stir rum and sugar together in a large pitcher to dissolve the sugar; add apple slices, orange slices, lemon slices, and lime slices.
Crush fruit slightly against the bottom of the pitcher to squeeze some juice into the rum mixture. Pour wine and orange juice into the pitcher; stir. Add lemon-lime soda and stir just before serving.
