Steps:
- Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 10-inch skillet with nonstick cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat until hot. Add ground beef and onion; cook and stir until beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain.
- Stir in all remaining ingredients except biscuits. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender.
- Spoon into ungreased 8-inch square (2-quart) or oval (2 1/2-quart) baking dish.
- Separate dough into 5 biscuits; cut each in half. Arrange, cut side down, around outside edge of hot mixture.
- Bake 20 minutes or until casserole is bubbly and biscuits are deep golden brown.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Unroll crescent dough into a rectangle; press onto the bottom and 1 in. up the sides of a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Seal seams and perforations. Sprinkle with 1 cup of chips; set aside., In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce and taco seasoning; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Spoon over chips. Top with sour cream, cheese and remaining chips. , Bake, uncovered, until crust is lightly browned, 25-30 minutes. Garnish with optional toppings, if desired.

This Runza casserole is amazing. The crescent dough that sandwiches in the casserole on the top and bottom is slightly buttery and sweet. A nice contrast with the savory meat and cabbage mixture. It may seem like a lot of onions, but they cook down and lend such a nice flavor. We went heavy on the pepper when seasoning the ground meat and cabbage and liked the final result.
