Filling
2 (21-ounce) cans peach pie filling *
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cobbler
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cold Land O Lakes® Butter
3 tablespoons milk
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg slightly beaten
Topping
3 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Stir together pie filling and nutmeg in large bowl until well mixed. Pour into ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • Combine flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and salt in bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and egg with fork just until moistened. Spoon mixture over filling in pan; sprinkle with 3 tablespoons sugar.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly around edges. Serve warm with half & half or ice cream, if desired.

This was handed down from my Grandmother. If they're in season, you can use 2 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches. Yum!

Number Of Ingredients 6

½ cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 (21 ounce) can peach pie filling

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place butter or margarine in a 9x13 inch pan and melt in oven while it is preheating.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk.
  • Remove pan of melted butter or margarine from oven. Pour mixture into pan, but DO NOT STIR. Spread pie filling onto batter, without stirring.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until fruit is bubbly and batter is set and golden brown.

  • In a large bowl, combine sugars; add peaches and toss gently. Cover and let stand for 1 hour. On a lightly floured surface, roll one half of dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate or iron skillet.Trim even with rim. Refrigerate while preparing filling. , Preheat oven to 400°. Drain peaches, reserving juice. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt; gradually stir in reserved juice. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice and butter. Gently fold in peaches. Pour into crust. , Roll remaining dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; cut into 1-1/2-in.-wide strips. Arrange over filling in a lattice pattern. Trim and seal strips to edge of bottom crust; flute edge. Cover edge loosely with foil. Bake 40 minutes; remove foil. Bake until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly, 10-20 minutes longer. Cool on a wire rack. If desired, serve with vanilla ice cream.
