Steps:
- In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, cream together shortening and brown sugar. Mix in eggs, pumpkin, and milk. Stir flour mixture into wet mixture until just combined. Fold in raisins and walnuts if desired. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees ) for 50 to 55 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat the sugar, pumpkin, oil, eggs and water until blended. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves; gradually beat into pumpkin mixture until blended. Stir in pecans. , Pour into two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. For topping, in a small bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle over batter. , Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

- Beat dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just blended. Pour into loaf pan and bake about 1 hr, depending on one's oven. Mine actually took 1 hr and 10 mins. Stick a toothpick in center, if it comes out mostly clean, it's done. While still warm, take a fork and poke small holes all over the bread. In small pan, over med-high heat, whisk butter, brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil and stirring constantly, cook 1 minute. Pour glaze over bread. Press pecans into top of bread.
