This is a very good dessert if you are looking for something lite.

3 cup(s) crushed pretzels (not to fine)
3/4 cup(s) butter, melted
3 tablespoon(s) sugar
2 package(s) (10 oz) partially thawed sliced strawberries
8 ounce(s) cream cheese
1 cup(s) sugar
1 large container cool whip
2 box(es) ( 3 oz ) strawberry jello

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine the melted butter, sugar and crushed pretzels. Press this mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake for 15 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Prepare jello with frozen strawberries. Put in fridge until almost set.
  • Combine pretzels, butter and 3 Tbsp sugar and layer at bottom of glass dish.
  • Mix cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and cool whip.
  • Layer pretzel base, cream cheese mixture then jello mixture. Let set overnight.

2 teaspoons butter, softened
4 cups pretzel sticks
2-1/2 cups pecan halves, toasted
2-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter, cubed
1 cup corn syrup
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package (11-1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon shortening, divided
1/3 cup white baking chips

Steps:

  • Line a 13x9-in. pan with foil; grease foil with softened butter. Spread pretzels and pecans on bottom of prepared pan., In a large heavy saucepan, combine brown sugar, cubed butter, corn syrup, milk and salt; cook and stir over medium heat until a candy thermometer reads 240°(soft-ball stage). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour over pretzel mixture., In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon shortening; stir until smooth. Spread over caramel layer. In microwave, melt white baking chips and remaining shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over top. Let stand until set., Using foil, lift candy out of pan; remove foil. Using a buttered knife, cut candy into bite-sized pieces.

Arrange the pretzels neatly on the pan, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped caramel. Place the pan into the oven for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the caramels are softened (but definitely not melting.) Remove the pan from the oven.Gently press a pecan half onto each caramel, just enough for the caramel to fill the pretzel. Set them aside to cool completely.Meanwhile, melt the chocolate. When the pretzel/caramels are cooled, remove them from the baking sheet. Spoon small dollops (1 1/2 teaspoon helpings) of chocolate all over the baking mat, then lightly drop each pretzel onto the middle of each dollop, making sure they're centered. Allow them to cool completely before serving (you can hasten this along in the fridge.)Variation: Spoon a little melted chocolate all over the tops of the turtles to cover the whole thing in chocolate.
