BBQ Baby Back Ribs - Pressure Cooker Recipe - Food.com image

Easy, fast and tasty. I adapted this from Miss Vickie's Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes, which was the best pressure cooker cookbook I found in our local library.

Total Time 20 minutes

Prep Time 5 minutes

Cook Time 15 minutes

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 lbs baby back ribs
2 cups of your favourite barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • Place the metal rack in your cooker and add 1/2 cup of water (I used 1 cup as the manufacturer of my electric cooker recommends).
  • If your cooker is large enough you can bend the racks around in a circle. Otherwise cut into sections and stand them upright in the cooker.
  • Lock the lid in place.
  • Bring to 15psi (high pressure in electric cooker) and cook for 12 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and use quick release method to depressurize.
  • When pressure drops, carefully open lid and use long tongs to remove ribs.
  • Cover with sauce by dipping in sauce in a shallow pan, or basting well as you broil or BBQ the ribs to complete.

PRESSURE COOKER BABY BACK RIBS - MEALTHY.COM

Pressure Cooker Baby Back Ribs - Mealthy.com image

These succulent baby back ribs are perfectly tender and juicy. A simple sauce with apple juice, apple cider vinegar and prepared barbecue sauce imparts Southern flavor with only a few ingredients. The ribs are made quick and easy by using the MultiPot Pressure Cooker. But if you still want that crisp crust as you bite into each rib, don't worry! In this version you finish off the ribs in the oven until the sauce is caramelized and browned. It's the best of both worlds!

Provided by Marrekus and Krysten Wilkes

Total Time 45 minutes

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

2½ pounds baby back pork ribs, cut and membranes removed
4 cups apple juice
½ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup prepared barbeque sauce

Steps:

  • Stack ribs in a pressure cooker pot; pour in apple juice and vinegar. Lock pressure cooker lid in place and set steam vent to Sealing. Select Meat/Stew and cook for 20 minutes on High pressure. Once the cooking cycle has completed allow pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes, then set steam vent to Venting to quick-release remaining pressure. Meanwhile, preheat oven to oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Remove ribs to the prepared sheet. Discard cooking liquid. Brush barbeque sauce onto both sides of ribs. Bake ribs in preheated oven until sauce is caramelized and browned, about 10 minutes; remove from oven and cut ribs into individual bones to serve.

pressure cooker saucy baby back ribs - fast & easy recipe ... image
These ribs cook up fast and the meat melts in your mouth! I've only used beef ribs, my husband's preference, but you certainly could substitute pork ribs. The nutritional values would change. I adapted this recipe from a favorite slow cooker recipe. These are very saucy ribs, messy and delicious! My husband calls them AWESOME!

PRESSURE COOKER BABY BACK RIBS RECIPE BY DEBBY - COOKEATSHARE
Seriously. Tender, falling off-the-bone ribs in 15 minutes, when you use a pressure cooker -- plus an extra ten minutes to make the most delicious "scratch" BBQ sauce you've ever tasted. Yes, it's true. I did it in my pressure cooker. BUT, you can adapt this to a slow cooker, only it will take you 6-8 hours to achieve what I did in 15 minutes! Please click on the recipe source to see how I made this on my food blog "A Feast for the Eyes". Recipe comes for America's Test Kitchen's "Pressure Cooking Perfection".

  • For the rub: Combine the ingredients and rub mixture evenly over the ris. For the sauce: Heat oil in the pressure cooker pot over medium heat until shimmering. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in ketchup, water, molasses, vinegar and mustard. Stir to combine. Cook for one minute (my additional step) Measure out and reserve one cup of the sauce. Arrange the ribs upright in the pot, with meaty sides facing outward, then pour reserved sauce over the ribs. Lock the pressure cooker lid in place and bring to high pressure over medium-high heat. As soon as the pot reaches high pressure, reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30 minutes adjusting heat as needed to maintain high pressure. NOTE: I set my electric pressure cooker to medium-high for 15 minutes, then let it do a natural pressure release for 15 minutes. Our ribs turned out perfectly. For a slow cooker, cook for 6-8 hours. Before serving: Preheat the broiler with the rack 6" below the flame. Remove ribs (meaty side up), with tongs, onto a foil-lined baking sheet with a baking rack set on top. Skim off the excess fat from the sauce, in the pot. Simmer the sauce until it is thickened, about 10 minutes, to equal about 2 cups. Brush the ribs with some of the sauce, flipping them over and brushing both sides. Starting with the meaty side up, broil until browned and sticky, for 2-3 minutes per side. Watch closely, as the sauce has sugar and can burn! Turn over a few times, adding additional sauce-- for a total of 10-15 minutes. Yum!

PRESSURE COOKER BABY BACK RIBS - DADCOOKSDINNER
Dec 27, 2016 · Season a slab of ribs, cut it into pieces so it will fit in the pressure cooker, add a half a cup of water, and pressure cook until tender. The only tricky part is peeling the membrane from the bony side of the ribs; you can skip this step, but the membrane will never get tender - it is a chewy piece of gristle.
