Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes Recipe | Allrecipes image

Hasselback potatoes were created at the Hotel Hasselbacken in Stockholm, Sweden in the 1940's, and they're still a popular side dish today. Not only are they delicious, and easy to make with lovely presentation, they take half the time to cook in an air fryer.

Yield 4 potatoes

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
½ teaspoon ground paprika
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Slice evenly across entire length of each potato to make 1/4-inch or 1/2-inch slices, making sure the knife only cuts through to the bottom 1/2-inch, keeping the bottom of the potato intact.
  • Combine butter, olive oil, garlic, and paprika in a small bowl. Brush some of the mixture over each potato and into the slits. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes. Brushing the potatoes again with butter mixture, making sure to get it down into the fanned out slices, to ensure the potatoes will not be dry. Cook until potatoes are cooked through, about 15 minutes more.
  • Remove potatoes from the basket and brush with any remaining butter mixture. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

baby potatoes, halved

1 tbsp.

extra-virgin olive oil

1 tsp.

garlic powder

1 tsp.

Italian seasoning

1 tsp.

Cajun seasoning (optional)

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Lemon wedge, for serving 

Freshly chopped parsley, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, toss potatoes with oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Cajun seasoning, if using. Season with salt and pepper.  Place potatoes in basket of air fryer and cook at 400° for 10 minutes. Shake basket and stir potatoes and cook until potatoes are golden and tender, 8 to 10 minutes more.  Squeeze lemon juice over cooked potatoes and garnish with parsley before serving.

  • Preheat air fryer to 360°. Using a mandoline or vegetable peeler, cut potatoes into very thin slices. Transfer to a large bowl; add enough ice water to cover. Soak for 15 minutes; drain. Add more ice water and soak another 15 minutes., Drain potatoes; place on towels and pat dry. Spritz potatoes with cooking spray; sprinkle with salt. In batches, place potato slices in a single layer on greased tray in air-fryer basket. Cook until crisp and golden brown, 15-17 minutes, stirring and turning every 5-7 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with parsley.
