Steps:
- Remove casing from sausage and dice
- Heat olive oil, 1 turn of the pan, over medium-high heat in a soup pot
- Add chorizo and render 1-2 minutes, add garlic and stir 1 minute
- Add tomatoes, chickpeas and stock; wilt in kale
- Simmer until ready to serve

Steps:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add leeks and onion; cook and stir until softened, 8 to 10 minutes. Add fennel and garlic; cook and stir until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Pour fish stock and vermouth into the pot. Add tomatoes, red bell pepper, orange zest, red pepper flakes, pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer until red bell pepper is soft, about 20 minutes.
- Bring stock back to a boil. Add cod fillets; cook for 1 minute. Add shrimp, clams, and mussels; cook, shaking pot occasionally, until shells open and shrimp turn opaque, 1 to 2 minutes.

- Add the potatoes and stir to coat in the tomato paste. Add the beans, chorizo, and all remaining ingredients, except the bacon, and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until the flavors have melded and the dried beans are cooked through, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Crumble the bacon into beans, and season with additional salt, if needed. Remove the bay leaf, transfer the beans to a serving bowl and serve.
