I got this recipe years ago from a neighbor and loved it! It's great at parties and gift giving at Christmas. Makes lots!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250.
- Prepare popcorn and set aside.
- In a sauce pan bring to a boil brown sugar, butter and syrup.
- Boil at a slow boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove and add baking soda, salt, vanilla and peanuts.
- Pour over popcorn and toss.
- Lay out on greased cookie sheets and bake for 1 hour stirring every 20 minutes.
- Store in Large Zip Lock Bags.

Here's the first Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookie copycat recipe I created for the Top Secret Recipes books back in 1987. Inspired by a bogus chain-letter cookie recipe, this is my version of the delicious Mrs. Fields cookies that are crispy around the edge and chewy in the middle. Be careful not to cook these too long. I know it becomes tempting to keep cooking these—they don't seem to be done after 10 minutes—but they will continue to cook for awhile after you take them out of the oven, and when cool, will be chewy in the middle. - Preheat oven to 350°. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes; beat in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in popcorn, chocolate chips and pecans., Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake until golden brown, 13-14 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
