Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup light light corn syrup
1-1/2 cups dry roasted peanuts
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Steps:

Microwave sugar and corn syrup in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 5 min., stirring after 3 min. Stir in peanuts. Microwave an additional 3 to 5 min. or until golden brown.
Add butter and vanilla; stir until butter is completely melted. Microwave 1 min. Stir in baking soda. (Mixture will foam.)
Spread mixture onto baking sheet. Cool completely. Break into pieces.

And even though the original is sort of square-shaped, we'll use a couple of 12-cup muffin pans to simplify the process. The shape will be different, but the flavor will be right on.
