A friend gave me this recipe for pizza dough. It is quick, easy and delicious!

Yield 1 large crust

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons white sugar

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups bread flour, olive oil, salt, white sugar and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Beat well until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Turn dough out onto a well floured surface. Form dough into a round and roll out into a pizza crust shape. Cover with your favorite sauce and toppings and bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Pepperoni pizza is a classic favorite, and in less than 20 minutes, you can make this light and healthy version. The whole wheat crust has more fiber and nutrients than a white flour crust, and using part-skim mozzarella saves on calories without compromising any flavor.

Yield Makes 6 servings (serving size: 1 slice)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup tomato-and-basil pasta sauce
1 (10-oz.) package prebaked whole wheat thin Italian pizza crust
¼ cup turkey pepperoni slices (about 24)
1 ½ cups (6 oz.) part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Spoon tomato-and-basil pasta sauce evenly over crust, leaving a 1-inch border around edges. Top with half of pepperoni slices. Sprinkle with cheese. Top with remaining pepperoni.
  • Bake pizza at 450° directly on oven rack 11 to 12 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese is melted. Cut into 6 slices. Serve immediately.
  • Note: For testing purposes only, we used Boboli 100% Whole Wheat Thin Pizza Crust and Classico Tomato & Basil Pasta Sauce.
