Egg Breakfast Pizza Recipe | Allrecipes image

This recipe will make two pizzas. I came up with it by accident by throwing a bunch of ingredients together. We make it on the weekends at the lake for breakfast/brunch. You can modify toppings. I usually make one sausage and one bacon. Each pizza will serve 3 to 4 people.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound ground sausage
2 (12 inch) prepared pizza crusts
12 eggs
¾ cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup
1 (3 ounce) can bacon bits
1 small onion, minced
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
  • Place pizza crusts upside down on cookie sheets and bake for 5 to 7 minutes. Do not allow to brown.
  • Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Scramble eggs until firm.
  • Remove crusts from oven, turn right side up, spread 1/2 can of cream of celery soup on top of each crust. Spread 1/2 of egg mixture on each crust. Sprinkle bacon bits on one pizza and cooked sausage on the other. Cover each with onions and peppers. Top each pizza with 2 cups of cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven, for 25 to 30 minutes, until cheese is golden brown.

My home-made pizza dough; I make it 3 to 4 times a week.

Yield 1 pizza crust

Number Of Ingredients 7

1?½ teaspoons active dry yeast
½ teaspoon white sugar
½ cup lukewarm water
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 egg, beaten

Steps:

  • Stir yeast and sugar into lukewarm water, using a fork. Let stand in a warm place until a creamy layer forms on top of the water, about 10 minutes.
  • Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Mix olive oil into flour and stir for 2 minutes. Pour yeast mixture and beaten egg into flour mixture and stir to make a stiff dough. Turn dough out onto a floured work surface and knead until springy and smooth, about 8 minutes. Place dough into a floured bowl and cover with a piece of plastic wrap wiped with a thin film of olive oil.
  • Let dough rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Punch down and roll out to desired shape.

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles; arrange in a single layer on a greased 12-in. pizza pan. Press onto pan to form a crust and seal seams; pinch edge to form a rim. Bake 8 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large skillet coated with cooking spray, cook sausage and mushrooms over medium heat 4-6 minutes or until sausage is no longer pink and mushrooms are tender, breaking up sausage into crumbles.   • Place the flour with a pinch of salt in a bowl and mix. Put the water in a measuring jug and dissolve the yeast and sugar in it. Mix the solution into the flour. Knead for 1 minute and add the olive oil. Now knead the dough thoroughly for at least 5 minutes.
