This Pecan Cheese Spread will remain a staple in your refrigerator once you have a taste. Sweet, cheesy, and with a hint of heat, this spread hits every flavor just right, and chopped toasted pecans add a bit of crunch for texture variety. This seven-ingredient recipe only takes five minutes to whip together, but it will make a much bigger impact on a biscuit than plain cream cheese or butter. Start by beating cream cheese, mascarpone cheese, honey, cayenne pepper, and seasoned salt until smooth. The cayenne pepper brings that touch of spice that every Southern dish needs, but the sweet honey, soft mascarpone cheese, and fluffy cream cheese are the main focus. After mixing those ingredients, stir in white cheddar cheese and chopped toasted pecans to finish the spread off. Place it in a bowl or pretty butter dish and chill until you're ready to serve. This Pecan Cheese Spread would be especially delicious on our Ham Biscuits, but we can't think of many things that would taste worse with a swipe of this spread on top. This spread would look beautiful as part of a breakfast, brunch, or luncheon lineup with biscuits and breads, where any homemade touch makes an impact. Pecan Cheese Spread would also be a smart addition to any cheese plate at a cocktail party. A well-rounded cheese plate has several key factors, and a soft cheese is always on the list. 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
4 ounces white Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 cup)
1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans

Steps:

  • Beat cream cheese, mascarpone cheese, honey, cayenne pepper, and seasoned salt with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, about 3 minutes. Stir in white Cheddar cheese and chopped toasted pecans. Scrape mixture into a serving bowl. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

I do not remember where I got the recipe for the Snowcap Spread. Since this is Pecan Month, here is a spread for crackers from the Colorado Cachet cookbook. Though the recipe indicates putting the pecan pieces on top, I just mix them into the spread. I have also altered this to include 1/3 cup diced green olives 8 ounces deviled ham, and 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper. (This is really mixing another recipe (Snowcap Spread with the Pecan Spread)

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 ounces cream cheese
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons diced onions
1/2 cup sour cream (more or less for consistency)
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt (less if desired)

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese, milk, green bell pepper, garlic salt, pepper, onion and sour cream.
  • Place in a bowl or on a plate you're going to serve.
  • Melt butter in a separate pan and add nuts and salt.
  • Stir well and drain on a paper towel.
  • Spoon nuts over cheese mixture.
  • Serve with crackers.
  • For the Snowcap Spread and Pecan Spread mixed, mix in the green olives, red bell pepper and deviled ham.
