PEAR PIE | JUST A PINCH RECIPES
This recipe is from Living History Farms, which is quite an experience. Once you arrive, a group of about 12 people taking an authentic ride to the "country farm house" (in any weather!) which is circa 1860. Everyone is seated at the large dining room table as the cook makes everything over a large wood burning fireplace which would have been the way things were done then. This recipe has been adapted to a "modern" version from The Everyday Cook-Book, 1902. My husband just visited the Living History Farms again this past week with his work associates and each time he goes, he brings home the sheet of recipes and makes a note of the dishes he enjoys. This is one of them!

PEAR PIE RECIPE BY JASMINE - COOKEATSHARE
This is a great pie that is comparable to an apple pie, but it doesn't seem as sweet. The pears and cinnamon work wonderful together. Add some whipped cream for a perfect amount of extra subtle sweetness. Bosc pears work best for winter season. For a more complex flavor, use a few different types of pears or a different pear for the season. Note, try to use softer/ripe pears. Any pears that are not fully ripe or hard won't soften up in the baking process.
