Number Of Ingredients 10

2 1/2 cups rolled oats (old fashioned oats)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups roughly chopped pears (about 3 small) – or feel free to use apples, bananas, etc.
2 dates or 1.5 tablespoons date puree
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
butter or coconut oil to grease baking dish

Steps:

  • Combine the dry ingredients (oats, cinnamon, salt, baking soda) in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Roughly chop the pears and place in blender or food processor with the two dates (or date puree). Blend until a thick applesauce-ish texture is reached, stopping to stir or scrape down the sides as necessary. Add the milk, water, and vanilla and stir well.
  • Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir well. Grease 9 x 13-inch baking dish with butter or oil and pour mixture into baking dish.
  • Bake on 375ºF for 25 minutes.

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal cookie mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon water
1 egg
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons evaporated milk (from 12-oz can)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 large pears, peeled, thinly sliced
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal cookie mix
1/2 cup butter, softened

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In medium bowl, stir together crust ingredients until dough forms. Press in pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar until combined. Add milk; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Arrange sliced pears on partially baked cookie crust. Drizzle brown sugar mixture over pears.
  • In medium bowl, mix topping ingredients with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling; press down lightly.
  • Bake 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Cool in pan on cooling rack at least 15 minutes. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
