6 cups sliced fresh pears
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lemon, zest of
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
4 tablespoons butter

Steps:

Heat oven to 400 F degrees.
Combine pears with white sugar, lemon juice, and lemon peel.
Place in greased 8 inch square baking dish.
Combine oatmeal, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and ginger.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle crumb mixture over pears.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until topping is crisped.
Serve warm.

6 large pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/4 cup boiling water, warm
1 lemon, juiced
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 1/4 cups butter, melted

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350. Mix pears, water and lemon juice in an 8 by 8-inch baking pan. Use a bowl and combine oats, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Pour in melted butter and stir to make a nice, crumbly mixture. Spread the topping evenly over the fruit. Bake for around 55 minutes or until the topping is crisp and browned.
